Council is excited to plan works for one of Strathfield's most popular parks! The amenities building, club room and oval are all included in the upgrade:

• Cost - $4,154,000 million
• Upgraded sports oval, with improved drainage, irrigation and lighting
• Upgraded amenities building
• New pathway to be constructed around the oval, with lighting
• New oval entrance with upgraded paving and lighting
• Increased tree plantings

Airey Park is 7.75 hectares and a popular park providing a wide range of sporting and recreational facilities, including a highly sought after sports oval. The park is heavily utilised by the school community for annual athletics events and by local cricket associations.

Recent heavy rain events have proved the importance of minimising downtime caused by wet weather to ensure the park is utilised to its full capacity. The drainage and levelling upgrades will ensure that school sporting activities and sporting seasons do not fall considerably behind schedule due to weather conditions. These upgrades to the oval will also ensure enhanced user experience as the conditions of the turf will be improved.

Additionally, the club room will be refurbished and upgraded into a pavilion, and the addition of accessible male and female toilets and change rooms will ensure inclusive access for all residents and visitors.

Associated landscaping and pathways will ensure the greenspace is in good condition and has increased accessibility.
