Begnell Field Overview
Begnell Field is one of Strathfield’s largest parks measuring 4.24 hectares in size, featuring a large sportsground suitable for rugby league and other sports. There is considerable on-site parking available with entry from Madeline Street.
Upgrades at Begnell Field will improve the functionality and user experience of this community green space whilst also ensuring it is inclusive and accessible. This includes the addition of female change rooms and umpires room, as well as baby change facilities. Pathways and accessible parking spaces will also improve the inclusiveness of the park.
Upgrades to the fields at Begnell Park include improved turf, lighting and drainage, which will reduce down time experienced during wet weather and improve hydration of the field during warmer weather.
Spectators can expect enhanced seating and viewing areas, accessible access ramps and seating area in the grandstand.
The community will make use of the additional parking spaces and dedicated field area for families with young children.
