At its meeting held on 16 December 2025, Strathfield Council resolved to seek community feedback on the proposed reclassification of the following Council-owned land parcels:

  • 1 Loftus Crescent – from Operational to Community
  • Pemberton Reserve (adjacent to 65 Pemberton Road) – from Community to Operational
  • Strathfield Town Centre Carpark (12–18 Albert Road) – from Community to Operational
  • 0 Park Road – from Community to Operational
  • Henley Reserve (21 Henley Road) – from Community to Operational

Land classification under the Local Government Act 1993 determines how Council land can be used and managed. “Community” land is generally intended for public use and has stricter protections, while “Operational” land provides Council with greater flexibility for management, potential leasing, or future development.

Council is inviting residents, stakeholders, and the broader community to provide feedback on the proposed reclassifications.
