Background

A new Coxs Creek Plan of Management has been prepared and was presented to the Council meeting of 24 February 2026. Strathfield Council is seeking comments from the community on the draft plan.

The Reserve is located in an area of mixed residential and industrial land, located between Roberts Road (west), Juno Parade (south) and Wentworth Street (northeast). The reserve is comprises of Council-owned land and a small portion of privately owned land. In total, the bushland reserve covers an area of 1.84 hectares. The Council owned land is zoned C2 – Environmental Conservation (LEP 2012) and is categorised as a natural area (watercourse) within the meaning of the Local Government Act 1993 (LG Act).

The Plan of Management (PoM) provides direction for the use and management of ‘community land’ under the Crown Land Management Act 2016 and Local Government Act 1993.

Plans of Management describes how Council intends to manage, use and develop the land in the future, thereby providing a transparent and coordinated approach to public land management.
