About the Proposal

Council is proposing to install two (2) shade sails in Ismay Reserve South, Homebush. The shade sail is proposed to be installed at the northern part of the reserve. The purpose of the proposal is to provide shade to the playground as there is currently limited provision for natural tree canopy cover shade due to the nature of the site. This will improve the experience of the playground for visitors by providing increased areas of shade, as well as strengthening sun safety.

Technical Considerations

The height of the proposed shade sail poles will range between approximately 4 and 7 metres. The poles are proposed to be powder coated and painted black. One (1) shade sail is proposed to be coloured light blue, and the other shade sail is proposed to be coloured dark blue.
