About the Proposal

Council is proposing to install a shade sail in Tavistock Reserve, Homebush West. The shade sail is proposed to be installed at the north-western part of the reserve.

The purpose of the proposal is to provide shade to the playground where natural tree canopy cover shade does not reach.

This will improve the experience of the playground for visitors by providing increased areas of shade, as well as strengthening sun safety.

Technical Considerations

The height of the proposed shade sail poles will range between approximately 3 and 7 metres. The poles are proposed to be powder coated and painted black. The shade sail is proposed to be coloured light blue.
